We have led the effort to permanently protect countless acres of Virginia's wilderness and cities.

Our Mission

Keep Virginia Cozy’s mission is to protect wilderness and inspire all Virginians to care for our wild places. We contribute to better protection, stewardship and restoration of our public lands, preserving our rich natural legacy for current and future generations.

Every natural place, like every person, is elevated by the love and respect shown toward it, and by the way in which its bounty is received.

What We've Achieved

  • Since our inception, we have removed upwards of 20,000 pounds of litter and recycling from Virginia's waterways, park systems, mountain trails, and neighborhoods. And that number continues to grow.

  • We have also formed partnerships with several local businesses who want to actively give back to the community we all live, work, and play in.

  • We've brought together caring people from all over Virginia, who want to play a part in keeping our great state beautiful for all. And our family continues to grow!

  • We repel off waterfalls pulling out invasive species of plants. We scrub off vandalism from trail head signs in our state parks, Shenandoah National Park, and the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. We work with corporations to get their employees outside and help clean up our state. And we are constantly finding new ways to give back!

  • We also offer a wide array of outdoor etiquette and environmental education classes, such as "Leave No Trace" and "How to behave in the outdoors". Classes that help people learn that our actions carry consequences, and what we can do to ensure they aren't negative consequences.
